Bonnie Eckerman, PT, DPT

Dr. Eckerman is the owner and principal Pediatric Physical Therapist for Blue Tang Physical Therapy and has been a licensed physical therapist for over 25 years. She grew up in New Hampshire and graduated from Pinkerton Academy and Simmons University, Boston, MA with a Bachelor's degree in Biology, a Master’s  and Doctorate Degree in Physical Therapy. During her studies in Boston she also spent a year studying  French in Strasbourg, France and holds a French language certificate from the University of Strasbourg.  Dr. Eckerman's 25 years of clinical pediatric experience includes early intervention (ESS), special care nursery, schools and outpatient pediatric physical therapy servicing ages 0-21.  She treats a variety of orthopedic, developmental, and neurological diagnoses including working with families treating infant and toddler development. Using her French conversational skills, she volunteered in Rwanda, Africa working along side Love With Actions, a Rwandan non-profit which provides therapies, school and family support to children and families with disabilities in the impoverished town of Bumbogo located outside the capital city of Kigali. For her work with Love With Actions, she was inducted in the Pinkerton Academy Hall of Fame in 2023.  Bonnie and her husband, Jonathan, have four children and live in Chester.
