Bonnie Eckerman, PT, DPT

Dr. Eckerman is the owner and principle Pediatric Physical Therapist for Blue Tang Physical Therapy and has been a licensed physical therapist since 1999. She grew up in New Hampshire and graduated from Pinkerton Academy and Simmons University, Boston, MA with a Bachelor's degree in Biology, a Master’s  and Doctorate Degree in Physical Therapy. During her studies in Boston she also spent a year studying  French in Strasbourg, France and holds a certificate from the University of Strasbourg.  Dr. Eckerman has over 25 years of clinical pediatric experience in early intervention, special care nursery, schools and outpatient pediatric physical therapy servicing ages 0-18.  She has treated a variety of orthopedic, developmental, and neurological diagnoses including working with families treating infant and toddler development along with torticollis and plagiocephaly. Using her French conversational skills, she volunteered in Rwanda, Africa working along side Love With Actions, a Rwandan non-profit which provides therapies, school and family support to children and families with disabilities in the impoverished town of Bumbogo located outside the capital city of Kigali. For her work with Love With Actions, she was inducted in the Pinkerton Academy Hall of Fame in 2023.  Bonnie and her husband, Jonathan, have four children and live in the Derry area.
